What does M1 mean for our Hoop teachers?

What does M1 mean for our Hoop teachers?

Here at Hoop, we are fully committed to raising the standard of education in Wales,
which is why we are so excited by the volume of fantastic teachers we’ve had come on
board with us over the summer holidays.

With the recent changes made as a result of the “Fair Deal for Supply Teachers”
Petition, we have recognised some uncertainty as to what these changes will mean for
our qualified teachers.

We want everyone who works with us here at Hoop to be aware that from September
2019, you will:

● Be paid £121.64 per day (M1)

● Be allocated a designated education consultant from our teacher-led team, who
will work with you to identify opportunities for your continued professional

● Be given direct access to our online training platform, where you will be able to
complete e-learning modules on Child Protection, Use of Reasonable Force,
Moving and Handling, First Aid and Behaviour Management, as well as other
available modules within the education sector

In accordance with the proposed 5% national pay increase for teachers, awaiting final
confirmation of this (currently in consultation), we will align our daily rate of pay to reflect this increase.
We are teachers ourselves. Supply teachers are an essential part of school life.

We are fully committed to the terms of the framework and will do everything in our power to
stop the exploitation of supply teachers.

Hoop Education are more than happy to answer any questions that teachers may have
regarding the new framework and we very much look forward to seeing what the new academic year will hold.
